Call for Artists: Minneapolis Convention Center Exhibit

08/14/2014 8:25 PM | Anonymous

Art Force requests submissions of original two-dimensional artwork for our SmartArt Rotating Art Program.

This program requires that the submitting artist agree to commit artwork to the program for a minimum of twelve months. The artwork can then be selected by the client as part of an art subscription. The proceeds of the monthly art subscription fee are divided evenly between the artist and Art Force. The artwork is also available for sale to Art Force clients during the “loan” period. Artists who are not selected may be considered for future opportunities at the Convention Center or other locations.

The large scale of the Convention Center space requires work of a similarly large scale. We are looking for work that is 40” x 60” or larger. The space will accommodate square and horizontal formats.

For this exhibit, the program is accepting work only by those who live and/or work in the City of Minneapolis. Work that depicts and highlights the city is of interest.

Consideration will be given to artists

  • with a cultural or geographic perspective that is unique or appropriate to Minneapolis.
  • who could be considered emerging in their development.

All artwork must be installation-ready. If the piece is framed, the frame and acrylic must be in excellent condition.

Your submission should include the following:

  • Digital image of artwork
  • Digital image that shows the framing, if applicable
  • Title
  • Medium
  • Size
  • Price
  • Biography
  • Artist’s Statement

Please name the digital file the following way:
