“Midwest Arts in Healthcare Network Showcase Exhibit” Juried Group Art Exhibition
for the 2010 Society for Arts In Healthcare (SAH) Conference
 
Sponsored by the Midwest Arts in Healthcare Network
 
Artists belonging to the Midwest Arts in Healthcare Network (MAIHN) are invited to submit artwork or photographic representation of  musical, dance of theater work to be considered for inclusion in a group exhibit to be mounted in the Medica Skyway Senior Center,  during April  2010. The exhibit will coincide with an Arts in Healthcare Celebration Month in April, 2010 culminating in the international Society for the Arts in Healthcare conference being held April 28-May 1, 2010 in Minneapolis. The intent of the show is to educate the public about the work of members of MAIHN. Artists and organizations working in Arts in Healthcare are encouraged to become members of MAIHN to be eligible for this exhibit ($10 recommended individual membership; $50 Organizational membership). The show will be juried and curated by Dyan R. Westman member of MAIHN, Art Consultant with DH Artdesign Inc., Mentor with FreeArts MN and Mary Bergs, Visual Artist.
 
Pieces accepted for exhibit will be exhibited in the Medica Skyway Senior Center.  Works will be paired with an artist’s description of her/his work and how it relates to healthcare, and/or a description of the associated local Arts in Healthcare program that they are associated with. The sponsor will also hold a public opening for the exhibit to be scheduled during Arts in Healthcare month.
 
Guidelines: 
  • Artists are encouraged to submit images of up to 4 pieces of original art or artistic photographic representations of performance for consideration.
  • Any media is accepted that can be hung from a standard picture hanging system. All works should be framed or similarly presented and have hanging wire on the back.
  • Dimensions limitations: No larger that 48” by 48”.  No more than 3” deep.  Weight limitation: 30 lbs. 
  • Entries must be received by February 1, 2010 and include the following: Up to 4  digital images at 72 d.p.i, and one page word or PDF document containing: Artist name, mailing address, e-mail address and telephone number and Media, titles, and dimensions of all work and images.
  • Artist must be available for art drop off and pick up.
  • Artwork in exhibition will not be insured (however site is covered by 24/7 live security)
